  6. What is EAC?
  7. ------------

  9. So how many text adventures are there around the world? mmm... let 
  10. me count. 1.2.20.145..214... Okay, so there's a hell of a lot of them, 
  11. and just about all of them are pretty boring, and with most text
  12. adventures you are given some text and a rather sad text input 
  13. requester for you to type `Go north' or `Go south' countless times. 
  14.  
  15. EAC is not like that at all. There's is no typing, and the adventure possibilities are endless, with it's AmigaGuide style programming 
  16. language. By using a simple text editor such as Ed or Transwrite, it 
  17. is possible to easily create wonderful text adventures for PD release.

  19. With EAC it is possible to include IFF ILBM pictures into your text
  20. adventures, which quickly remap to your current workbench palette. 
  21. Standard tracker modules can also be added into your adventures to 
  22. give them that extra bit of atmosphere. You can also place items such 
  23. as keys, weapons and treasure in your adventures by using a simple 
  24. variable system.

  26. What's new in v1.4/v1.4b
  27. ------------------------

  29. v1.4    *   More bug fixes :)
  30.         *   New encryption format, which allows you to
  31.             include ILBMs and MODs into the encrypted
  32.             code.
  33.         *   Latest version of AmiWelcome 2 included with
  34.             the EAC suite.
  35.         *   Scalos/DOpus compatible.
  36. v1.4b   *   Tracker handler de-bugged, which caused problems on
  37.             various machines (apparently).
  38.         *   DIV: (Divide) and MUL: (Multiply) commands added.
  39.         *   Extensions to ADD: , SUB: , DIV: and MUL: . It is 
  40.             now possible to do: ADD:[Variable]:[Variable] :)
  41.         *   Bloody hell! The `Ignore colour' option now works 
  42.             properly!
  43.         *   EAC is now a commodity, allowing you to make the
  44.             interface appear and disappear using the hotkey:
  45.             `LALT, LSHIFT and E'
  46.         *   The Default text and background colour can now be 
  47.             altered.
  48.         *   Improved IFF ILBM scrolling :)
  49.         *   New `DEBUG' mode, which forces EAC to use only chip
  50.             memory. This may solve any incompatibility problems
  51.             with various accelerators. Read the guides for more
  52.             information.
